The date on my calendar read January 11,2009.I was a little excited as I had a planned a small trip with my friends to a place called Singaperumal Kovil,near Tambaram.Its a very special temple and the basic motive behind the trip was just to spend some time together with friends and get the blessings from the Almighty so that the New Year turns out to be lucky for all of us.The photo here shows all my friends (from left Aravindan,Manivannan, Venkat,Hari) taking rest beneath a huge tree on the way to the temple. We had to start very early as we wanted to escape from the morning hot sun and enjoy the cool early morning climate.This idea is courtesy our friend,Krishna who took me first to this temple.We missed you Krishna on this trip.He was unable to join due to some personal problems.The plan was to meet at Guindy railway station at 6.45a.m.Myself and Venkat were the first to gather at the point.Aravindan was the next to join in.He came by bus and joined us.But we missed the train and also Hariprasad who had boarded the direct train.All of us met only at the Singaperumal Kovil railway station.
The next person to join was Manivannan.He came by bus from Tambaram.So,all five of us got together at the temple entrance at around 8.45a.m.We first visited the Singaperumal Kovil and had a small breakfast there.We were back by around 9.20a.m.The next place in the schedule was Chettipuniyam temple.
Chettipuniyam temple is at around 3kms distance from Singaperumal Kovil.So we guys decided to take a bicycle to reach there.All of us except Aravindan took a bicycle for the renting shop.We started from Singaperumal Kovil at around 9.30a.m and it took us around 45 minutes to reach the Chettipuniyam temple.It was real fun riding a bicycle after a long time(Of course except,Aravindan, He would have had severe body pain in the evening).Although the road was not so nice,we enjoyed the ride. We took a few photos on my mobile.Here you can see (from left Venkat,myself,Mani and Hari) on our respective bicycles.We spent around 30 minutes there and offered our prayers.
We started our return trip on bicycle from Chettipuniyam at around 10.45 a.m.While returning we were a little tired because of the cycle journey.But that did not prevent us from bullying Aravindan ( the guy without the bicycle).We almost made sure that we didn't miss any of the pathholes on the road over which we will ride the bicycle when he is sitting at the back.Here we see a picture in the village backdrop(from left Hari,Aravindan,Venkat and Mani).After taking a few more phots,we started continuing our journey back to Singaperumal Kovil on the bicycle.We started fine.But we were not able to ride the bicycles with the same speed as before.
So we decided to take a break and have a cold drink and then continue the journey back.But as we were planning for the break,Hari and Aravindan had gone far ahead.I had to call them and ask them to come back.Both the guys came back.We had a refreshing round of cold drink.Our energy levels were quite fine now.We continued our bicycle ride.We reached the destination at around 11.30.We paid the rent for the bicycles.We had another round of cold drinks because I insisted.So,we were ready to part ways,It was time to say bye bye.I joined with Mani,we both left by bus to Tambaram and the rest 3 guys took the train to get back.On the way back,myself and Mani transfered a few data on each other's mobile.Mani got down at Camp
Road and I reached home.
It was a very nice and well organized trip,thanks to all the planning done by Captain Venkat.It was fun teasing and bullying the new born baby Aravindan(he had jus finished celebrating his birthday on Jan 10).Hari was as usual jovial and having fun.Mani was the Mr.Smart that day,had a few appointments after the trip it seems(with girlfriend).Mani,don mistake me jus to provide a finishing touch to my first blog.Hope u guys enjoyed reading this blog.I'll just use this blog to relive these moments after some two or three years down the lane and cherish those moments i spent with u guys.Do send me your suggestions.
